On March 9, 2006, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) and Steerforth Press announced the launch of Playboy Press, a book publishing venture. Playboy Press's first three titles are scheduled for release in September 2006 and include The New Bedside Playboy, Dear Playboy Advisor and Sexual Pensées. Under this joint publishing agreement, Playboy will be responsible for the editorial content and art direction while Steerforth Press will manage the marketing as well as the sales and distribution in conjunction with Random House for all books published by Playboy Press.
"We are thrilled that The New Bedside Playboy, Dear Playboy Advisor and Sexual Pensées will resume a brand tradition that began in the 1960s," said Leopold Froehlich, executive editor of Playboy. "Playboy Press will provide high-end, quality books that draw from a half century of material in Playboy magazine."
